I have never had a Bali bag that lasted the trip home - maybe because I have tried to squeeze too much in. The zips have been the sort you'd put in a skirt (but longer, of course) - very weak with small "teeth". So, if you do decide to use Bali bags don't overfill &, as others have suggested, wrap over the zip and around the ends & in between with masking tape &/or use strong string.

Nylon sports bags are lighter & better quality, more sturdy.
