as I thought it was always bad here. But seriously the traffic depends on the time of year. Also, Sunset road was having trouble but a little better due to adding another lane. During peak hour (5-6pm) most of the highways are bad. Around Xmas it is gridlock for 4 weeks and after Ramadan, so depends when your coming. You need to leave before 4pm or after 7pm if you want to be sure to beat it, we drive every day in this traffic and we know the driving times at different times of the day and we avoid going into Kuta/Legian or Seminyak by car at peak time (we take the motorbike to go to dinner.
