I stayed at the Melast in March 2009 for 10 days. We had a delux room which was huge, had 3 different balconies one of which looked to the beach. The room was a little tired but very livable, probably biggest gripe was just local TV. TV was very small, could not lay in bed to watch it, that said though we were not in the room very often so didnt really care. We found the big pool to cold but it was nice, other pool was comfortable. Towells were hard to come by, there is a phone by the pool so that you can order food / drinks. Breakfast was great although sometimes not very hot, can be slow to get clean cuttlery. I stayed there in a standard room in May 09 it was comfortable. The reception staff were at times not as friendly as they could be but room staff very friendly & helpful. There is direct beach access via a pallet however I was not game enough to use it. It is a casual 10 minute stroll if you walk to the beach. I would be happy to stay there again.
