the amount does not really worry me - - what the country charges is their decision but I agree that this could be an expensive day. We are flying Air Asia in September (point to point airline) and need to entre Bali at 0830 in the morning to exit straight away as our plane leaves for Thailand at 1230.
This means that we pay $25US to walk out and collect our baggage and then 150,000rup to exit the country within hours.
Then we have to pay VOA agin a week later when we return.
Oh well we decided to go to both places and if this is what the Indonesian Govt. decide I guess we do not have much choice in it - - I am not going to miss out on it for the sake of some $40.00 Australian - - this is the price you have to pay.
