Just read in the Jakarta Post this morning the government will now allow visitors the option of extending their 30 visa on arrival by 30 days, making a total stay of 60 days.
Not sure the mechanics of how it will work, I just hope you can pay the extra on arrival, rather than have to go to an immigration office. Will make things a lot easier for longer stay tourists, not having to apply for a 60 day tourist visa in their home embassy/consulate before coming to Indonesia.
