Just a quick JBR, family of 4 from Perth kids 6 and 8 (thier 12th trip) ours approx 20th.

This holiday was for my 40th as did not want party at home so it was a nice getaway and Bali did not disappoint. Weather was perfect which is strange for this time of year, only had a bit of rain but otherwise sunny and hot, rate was good.

As we have been numerous times we dont go crazy with the shopping but still love to go shopping and explore as to whats new...

Stayed at the Patra again, we love this place, great for family accomodation and right on the beach, excellent footpath access along beach to walk in the evening. Was shown Crown Villa which was massive and aslo executive villa and embassy suite for our september stay.

Made the effort to look at other accomodation for september as friends are staying at Sofitel and we would like to stay a bit closer to them for first part of holiday then go back o patra for remainder of time...

Well I showed my husband The Breezes (we were meant to stay here in jan but had to move as probs with management so went back to patra) he was glad we didnt stay, didnt really like the location and felt rooms were little and dated. But overall not a bad hotel. I guess we are comparing to The Patra right on the beach and style of accomodation.

We then checked out The Haven in seminyak, The Villas here a just beatutiful and i loved them, the 1 and 2 bedroom wow....saw the 2 bdrm apartment as well, very impressed and then walked to front of hotel to deluxe rooms and bigger pool etc....We liked this hotel, location, street frontage to shops but also at the back entrance you could nip down double 6 to the beach etc...

Went to B Villas (spa and seaside etc) nice but not for us, location etc.

Found Villa Jodie on eat street which was lovely and if your a foodie this is a great villa, nice access to your villa, big rooms nice private pool etc, great spot.

Then we looked at Outrigger, my husband called it the "fishbowl' but we reaaly liked the accomodation for family, 2 bdrm suites are great, but pool area is lacking shade, very minimal design but yes we are comparing to the patra very balinese. Woiuld not stay up levels with young children, scary balcony heights.

Went to Joy and treated myself to 2 bracelets, was given birthday money so spurged, very happy...

Went to Carrefour and had yummy meal at tepinake (?) at end of food court - kids loved watching and eating food prepared in front of them. Loved this meal...

At at Ultimos, Queen of India, Febris, Pantai, Envy, new restaurant at back of Centro which was very nice, Celcius in Centro. Loved breadtalk as usual with curry puff (oooh yum) washed down with iced vanilla latte from starbucks....

Had Canvas prints done in Mataharis, fantastic, had 10 done for RP300,000 so 2 for RP60,000. Big sizes...

Went to Rock Bar at Jimbaren, super cool bar and wow factor big time , worth the drive to go and have nibbles and drinks (not cheap). Kids loved cable car down cliff face ( i was a bit scared!!)...oh did i mention the spunky waiter...(yeh 40 now i am a couger) I was cheesy enough to have a photo with him...Oh there was this aussie guy playing acoustic guitar up rocks on cliff, amazing sound and voice.

Ohter than that we had lots of time spent by the pool and massage on beach etc, bali was busy and would go back now, but saving hard for September, already have air asia tickets just now accomodation which is going to be 1 week at outrigger then patra. Oh we flew Jetstar and they were great, on time etc, food service all good...

Thanks for reading...
