in the late 80's with interest rate rises 18.5% & I lost my job.
We went down to one income. We struggled to keep the roof over our heads & I grew our own veggies and the fridge was very empty.
A well meaning friend came on a visit and took our then young children to toyworld to buy gifts for them.
Our children loved & adored those gifts.
For us as a parent it was very difficult as the money on the expensive gift each amounted to two months mortgage repayments or would have filled the freezer for serveral months.
Find out was is truly needed.
