Do you want to be based in Legian the whole time and do day trips or are you wanting to travel around and stay at different destinations. Find yourself a good tour guide that you trust, tell them what you want to do and go from there.
Maybe spend a few days in Kuta area having massages, shopping etc then head up to Lovina, stay for a couple of nights, swim with dolphins, hot springs etc, then head back down to Ubud for a few days and sight see around there. Then base yourself back in Kuta for day trips to things like Safari Park etc and then you can plan your island hops from there too.
I have used the same tour guide for years and he has taken us all around Bali. His name is Kadek, he has a website www.toursofbali.com he only changes around Rp400,000 per day and speaks great english.
