Hi. Just got back from our 1st trip to Bali, 12-22 Jan. Stayed at the Breezes resort, Seminyak and wanted to post this 'cos of all the bad press and uncertainty about the resort that i read before going. Yes, we were apprehensive too, but all our worries were unfounded! The hotel is great, the staff are fantastic and the 5pm pool bingo is still going on! Yes, there is security outside, but there is at a lot of the hotels so we didn't find anything sinister about it. In fact, they were all friendly and said hi every time we saw them. It was quiet there, whether because of the takeover or because of time of year, i don't know, but it didn't stop us from having a good time. We had a family room which is 2 interconnecting rooms. Our daughter, nearly 17 had the one with 2 single beds and hubby and me had a king size bed. The rooms aren't huge and the bathroom looked a bit tired, but we don't spend our holiday in our rooms so no great drama there.
I won't bore you with details of what we did etc, but we will definitely visit Bali again. Hubby dived on a couple of days, and wants to go back at a different time of year for more dives, and daughter and i loved the shopping!!
Will probably stay in a different location next time. Not because the hotel was bad, but because we like to try different places when we go back somewhere on holiday. We loved Seminyak, and definitely wouldn't want to stay in Kuta, too busy for us, but might look at Sanur or Nusa Dua.
Sorry for the long waffle, but i hope this report helps anyone who was worried about the Breezes. Go there and have a great time!
