Hi Binna - we had no trouble with mosquitos, even though there is a lot of water around (moat)the huts. We did however have one of those huge geckos in the room - the noise they make is so loud. At first we couldn't see it, only hear it; my husband finally found it hiding behind a painting. We couldn't sleep because of the noise so called reception and they immediately sent two boys with a broom, who chased it around the roof and eventually it went into the thatched roof of the room and then we heard it plop to the ground. All the time it was being chased around the room, i was on the bed screaming/laughing. The staff at Mara are very helpful; the rooms are very nice too, and i would recommend a stay there (but probably one night is enough).
