Alang Alang has one 'villa'. The remainder of the accommodation is bungalow sytle hotel rooms. I notice they have recently jumped on the 'villa' bandwagon and renamed their 'bungalow' style hotel rooms to be called 'villas'. No doubt trying to follow on from the success of Qunci Villas (which are also hotel rooms). Whatever you call them, they are not villas as is widely accepted in Bali. They are not self-contained, do not have separate rooms (ie. living area, bedrooms, kitchen etc) and have no staff.
If I booked an Alang Alang villa and got one of the bungalow rooms I would be unimpressed. If I booked a bungalow knowing that is what it was, I would be quite happy as it is in a good location and a reasonable hotel.
The only actual villa at Alang Alang is the one that sits next to the main hotel, and it has it's own private pool.
(I am pretty familiar with the property as I used to live 50 metres away from it)
