If you do one thing in Bali you should try the Bike Baik cycling tour.
It was fantastic from start to finish. The owner of the business, Wayan, was very helpful on the phone when booking and we were picked up at our hotel in Legian at 7am. We were driven to Ubud to Wayan's house and office to meet other cyclist. They were a bit late so Wayan took us to the local school where his daughters attend and his father is a teacher. It was lovely to see all the kids so happy and chat to the teachers. We eventually set off to Kintamani to have our breakfast overlooking the volcano, stopping along to way at a coffee plantation to sample different coffees and teas. We bought some stuff here that was a bit expensive buy hey, we're on holidays, who cares.
After breakfast we set off on our cycling tour with Nyoman as our guide. He was really funny and charming and helpful and I was his adopted Mum by the end of the tour. We stopped in several places for water and bananas and a bit of sightseeing.
It was so great to cycle through all the villages and the kids coming out to say Hi and give us Hi5's. There was a bus that followed all the way in case you were feeling too tired to peddle anymore and replacement bikes in case of malfuntions (this happened twice to my daughter).
After 24 kms of steady downhill riding with a few gentle but killer hills towards the end, we were taken back to Wayan's house for the most unreal Balinese food prepared by his wife.
The family made us really welcome and it was definitely the highlight of our trip to Bali.
I highly recommend this tour, you won't regret it.
