I have stayed in emerald villa, and it is very, very nice. It is in a small block of four units, and was only built a few years ago. The pool is fine, I thought. You do have to walk down a lane to the beach, however, we would go to the Sanur beach hotel, and use their pool , lounges, towells etc without any problem. The ocean around this end of Sanur is usually a little murky anyway (pollution?) Puri Ayu is just a few steps from many great restaurants as well. If you are honeymooning, you might want to have a look at Parigata Villas Resort in Sanur, about half a kilometer away. Each room has its own pool, and I think its reasonably priced for what you get. We got a good price thru balihotelssdotcom.
Most hotels will allow you to store your luggage at their lobby. Or just book another half day (late check out)
