really, it's not that bad.
Then, while you are there you will have freedom to go wherever you want whenever you want.
The "challenging" part is down south, but I am sure that you could negotiate with the rental guys to see you out and on your way (maybe following a bike?!)
Coming back you will get lost, wonder where you are, and wonder if you will ever see civilisation again.
You will.
Something to look back on as an achievement, and once you have done it....onwards and upwards.
