Having looked over many posts about dramas that errupt in Bali and having witnessed a few I conclude that too many zeros while doing the currency conversion is partly to blame. When a visitor arrives and is not yet up to speed they are at a big disadvantage from the outset by an industry that preys upon this confusion...it begins at some of the less creditable money changers and their slight of hands techniques to the taxi drivers etc. In my view this is bad for Bali tourism when a first experience is to be ripped-off. Just a rant but wish the currency was roughly 10R to a dollar; after all, why do they need all those zeros?
