well left with air asia a little late on the 2nd jan. 8 adults and 6 kids ranging from 14 to 17 all headed to kumala pantai.Arrived early considering the delay at 8.20 and got straight thru as nobody and i mean nobody was in the airport but us. Glad as i had a bet we would be at hotel by ten and was there by 9.30. ( my choice of free lunch). First time at kumala pantai and loved it. we were spread out with 6 of us in h block out front and the others down back in A block. we truly loved everything about this hotel to say it was better than the mandira hotel.Could not check in till 2 so all went to pool and in our excitement forgot sunscreen and all got rather sunburnt! Now a short summary on restaurants.
Lanai Restaurant... Been before in april and loved it but this time very disappointed. Nasi goreng was so bland!!! 3/10
Bianco in padma st....Went here twice. absolutely lovely 9/10
Rosso Vivo.... This was by far the best. 10/10 (need to book)
C-Bistro next door to zanzibar...another we ate at twice 8/10
Poppies..always really lovely 8/10
Went to ku de ta around 3.30 for drinks and snacks and i just love this place and would go all the time but certainly puts a dent in the pocket.
Took the kids to paddys much to our worry as there is always that concern in the back of your mind but they loved it and i felt good watching my 14 yr old daughter have such a great time and then thank her dad and i for the best night of her life! It felt good although i have to say the music was AWFUL! All us adults sat in their dying to leave and watching our clock for 1am to hurry up.
Now it was our turn and we took them to legends on garlic lane another night which is more our kind of music and they all sat like stale fish like we did at paddys. kinda funny really.
Was going to take them again to paddys last friday but the increase in security everywhere concerned us a bit so decided not to.
Well all in all it was another hot humid and fantastic bali holiday. Time to plan another one!
