is go the Padma, it is a very big hotel in a great area (Legian) and for your first time it would be ideal.There are stacks of great restaurants very close by that serve all types of food, honestly even the smallest of places usually have a very varied menu and have some western food. I took my kids whenh they were 11 and 8 and I dont think they ate any indoesian food at all (much to my disgust I might add !!!). Apparently the Padma has sensational buffeet breakfasts so that is a good start to the day.If you want to relax you can stay in the hotel grounds and if you want to explore/shop/eat then everything is close by.
