Back into Oz life after 2 weeks back. Had 3 weeks with hubby, me and 3 girls 17,15,11.
Started in Sanur at Prima Cottages for 2 nights. Had the 2 bdrm villa at the back of the property. Would be a good set up in cooler months. Very large bedrooms and the biggest bathrooms I have ever seen.
Took our eldest daughter to the skin specialists in Denpasar as recommended. No cure for Excema but gave us this fantastic cream. Her skin has never looked better and she has suffered from birth with this skin condition. Also found a recording studio next to the clinic and our eldest also recorded 9 songs later in our trip. Great experience for her. Then off to Kuta Townhouses in the two bed two bath apartments. Very clean and comfy. Great location close to all the shopping. Might be just me but haven't had any fantastic food yet. So off to double 6 to our favourite hot food padang. Yum yum that is better. Hired our friend ketuts car and off to Candi Dasa and up the coast.
What a great 5 days. We had our GPS from Aust and got the download for Bali maps in Sanur. Got to travel all the backroads through rice paddies and down small lanes in villages. Absolutely beautiful. Our girls didn't stop with the camera or video.
We travelled up to Lovina then everyone wanted to head back through Ubud and we stayed 3 nts. Then back to Kuta Townhouse until we left for home.
Having a car was the best we could just get up and go whenever we liked it was great. Getting stuck in traffic jams near jl Legian was an experience. We would just wind down the windows all the locals would chat with us and pose for photos so much fun. The Balinese young guys most of them should be on the stage.
Visiting our Bali friends was lovely. To see their young family grow is wonderful. Ketut and Kadek have such an outlook and humour about their life. It is so refreshing.
The only tourist thing we did was go to Waterbom Park. Worst part was the power blackouts that can last for 3 or 4 hours. That was a pain. Now just waiting for news when our friend Komang has her 1st baby. In all was a great bonding trip for our family would highly recommend it to any family.
