Just a query... was the hotel in Nusa Dua that you looked at part of the Peninsula Group? Where for $7,000 you get 10 year membership to any of their hotels in the world, where it'll only cost you $400 a week? If so, that's the one we got suckered into going to. We told them straight out that we wouldn't purchase anything, so they didn't bother showing us around. We did have a lovely mie goreng for breakfast in their restaurant though, free of charge. We also "won" 7 nights accommodation... a little booklet/voucher thing? I'm intrigued as to whether it's legit!
I'm with you on Kuta.... and on spending more money on cocktails than on the entire meal ;) The novelty cocktails at Poppies (the Poppies Pina Colada) are hard to refuse though... ;)
