As the previous poster has said, you can transfer QFF points from one family member to another. The transfer is instantaneous.
Transfers are useful when the only available seat is business class and the would be passenger has insufficient points.
My wife is now in Indonesia, as I transferred 30,000 QFF points to her account in so she could make a QFF trip.
The QFF rules are that only one transfer every 12 months is permitted.
