This was done at both hotels we have stayed at in the last 2 yrs and they always do it once a week. It definitely smells like diesel we normally go in the room and put a towel at the door to stop the fumes coming in, as the smell takes my breath away. But if it stops mosquito's and getting dengue fever I would rather put up with it. I saw a guy in 2008 who got it and he was shocking he had to be hospitalised for 3 days and was on a drip. He had got it in Vietnam with out knowing and it wasn't till he got to Bali that the symptoms started. It was going to be a slow recovery for him.
