we stayed in one (although privately owned) in October and it was great. Friends stayed in the hotel owned 2 and 3 bedroom apartments in A block and they were great also. I have read lots of negatives on this forum about the hotel owned apartments, but the ones that my friends stayed in were really nice especially the 3 bedroom one which was huge!!!
depending on your budget, you could always stay at the melasti beach resort which is close to the Jayakarta in 2x interconnecting Suite Cottage rooms which are also huge hotel rooms (not apartments) and would fit you all in very comfortably.
