my ten year old son has a life threatening allergy to peanuts and is also allergic to almonds and sesame seeds. He has been to Bali 6 times now without incident. We have a laminated card explainng his allergy, but we usually order Western style food for him and stick to bigger restaurants. Its usually oils that are contained in food that is the problem as people forget about this when telling you that the food contains no nuts or seeds. The sesame allergy causes more difficulties that the peanut one.
We have to be very careful obviously and keep his epipen and phenergen with him always. I also wipe down plastic tablecloths with a wet wipe as contact with nuts irritates his skin. Fortunately he is always happy to eat pizza pasta and burgers. And chips of course.
