not really worth it unless you can buy your USD at a good rate. I managed to buy every USD $100 for @ $102 AUD so it was a saving for me. I doubt you would be able to purchase USD at a rate of .9800 or above unless you work in an industry that gives you access to good foreign currency rates, I am very lucky in this regard. When exchanging funds in Bali I got about 9400-9600 for USD and about 8300-8500. It might be worth getting your USD $25 for VOA but other than that it's just as easy to take AUD. I was changing my money at Circle K money changers, the rates are a fraction lower but they are honest and wont try and rip you off. I have left my email open if you need more info, cheers.
