Just got this email from my 2 sons in Bali with another mate. They went over for schoolies. They have been to bali about 6 times before so they know their way around okay. They are by no means angels, so I'm pretty suprised by it:
"bali is ok but we're all getting really over it and all the dic head australians that are here, you kind of feel ashamed to tell people your australian because all of the drunk idiots trying to fight everyone and being disrespectful but i guess thats what we get for coming when schoolies is on...
where getting out of kuta today, going down to padang padang(near uluwatu) to stay in these bungalows and then i think were just going to do some activities after that like deep sea fishing and even maybe a balinese cooking lesson haha and where going to the gili islands next week.
We have become really good friends with this balinese dude that works here selling tour trips, he comes and hangs with us after work and he's taken us too his house before and stuff hes a really good guy and we wanna try and get him to aus and give him a job either at the pub or a restaurant somewhere cause he's pretty poor and he only earns around 70 aus a week for 56 hours. We thought if he can over for a couple of months he could earn enough to send his sister to university and even get him a house, but we dont know how we would go about visa's, and getting him a passport and if it would be even possible or worth getting him over ...i dunno what do you think?"
