I haven't stayed at either but have looked at the Breezes when it was just changing from Contiki and it looked quite good (we have stayed at villa Bugis which is directly behind the breezes resort), I've had 2 lots friends stay at Breezes and they both liked it.
I haven't stayed at Villa Lumbung as like you I thought that it was too far away, until I drove past it last month (we were staying in Canggu) and realised that it is in a lovely area - I didn't realise how close it is to some of the restaurants and even the beach is not too far. The beach closest to it is lovely as it is quite quiet so you don't get hassled. The rooms on the website look nice and a very good size.
