Taking food home on the plane?

I am going to Bali in June without hubby and he wants me to bring back Bread Talk and Chicken Ayam from Barton Waru. Has anyone done this before? I really don't think customs will let it go through, but I said I'd post it on the forum to see if anyone has tried to bring food back home with them. Thanks
