We travelled to Gili T in Sept and absolutley loved it...contrast to Bali, much quieter, no shopping at all - no cars, motor bikes or dogs! Even though reputed to be a party island, I found it very peaceful and relaxing.
I would recommend a stay at Scallywags - they have 10 rooms, which are like mini villas, very private, with high walls and an outdoor shower. The snorkelling around the area was fantastic and I was surprised at how clean and clear the water was.
Hire a bike or walk around the island - it is fantastic.
Food was sensational at Scallywags and also at nearby Kokomo.
We flew over on Merparti, but our next trip we will take a ferry from Benoa Harbour (2 hours) using the Island Getaway boat. Cost is around 1.2M Rp return trip from Bali to Gili T.
