the cendana would certainly suit an 83-year-old, maybe one of the ground floor rooms if she has trouble with stairs. my 'superior' room was one of the cheapest there and so didn't have a TV but it had everything else - nice and big, very clean, bar fridge, canopied bed. the bathroom was also big, with a toilet, a shower and a big bathtub with a low wall and a hand-held water nozzle. as the whole bathroom is tiled in stone and there are drains everywhere, an elderly person could quite easily sit on the bath wall and shower with the nozzle. no danger of falls! the more expensive rooms are even larger.
the location is perfect, so quiet yet right on monkey forest rd. the only thing is, sound carries at night and while the traditional musical performances nearby were lovely to listen to every night, the quite loud reggae/rock music from a bar on monkey forest rd road could be annoying for some. this went on until about 10pm some nights.
otherwise, the cendana is perfect, so easy to walk around to the lovely restaurant and the gorgeous spa, and the front office staff were invariably polite and helpful.
