tell them to take the Aussie SIM card out of the phone and buy a local (Indonesian) one.
I deal with a large number of tourists.
Many simply do not understand what is happening with Global Roaming. Every time your friend calls a number in Bali they are making an international call.
In two different cases, tourists who have stayed with us for short periods have gone back to Australia and received phone bills of $3,000 and $1,235.
Get that damn SIM card out of their phone as quick as you possibly can.
