When you arrive you will need to pay your Visa on Arrival fee. Some people take US dollars, thats good I think if you can get them without paying commission for them, otherwise, its just as easy to pay in Aussie dollars. You wont get the best rate, when you work out your change which will be in rupiah, but hey, its not worth bothering about for the small amount. Yes most likely you are better to use CBA than Westpac, as there is a link between CBA Oz and Bali...my understanding the Australian bank part owns the Bali Comm Bank, but not fully. They are, or at least were, when I last spoke to Comm Bank in Bali, separate entities, and if you speak to a teller in Australia, they seem to have no knowledge of the Bali Comm Bank. Comm Bank ATM's are on the increase in the main tourist areas, yes, they are pretty easily found, perhaps not out in the outer regions, but if around Kuta, Legian, Nusa Dua/Benoa, Tuban areas, I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding some. You will also have to pay 150,000 rupiah per person when you are leaving the country, so make sure you put that aside in rupiah, with your passport, you pay it upstairs at the airport (dont panic, they'll find you if you dont find them...haha). Must be paid in rupiah.
I'm sure some other forumites can give further insight on ATM's and possibly fees for you. Cheers :)
