I have stayed at Taman Sari Cottages in Poppies 2 Lane in Kuta twice this year.
For Rp 200,000 per night (including breakfast) at Taman Sari Cottages, you also get a backup generator. The generator is connected with a trip switch and does not have to be started by a security guard. All you notice is that the lights flicker when the power is cut off and the hum of the generator starts.
My room was air conditioned and the hotel had a swimming pool and restaurant.
