Hi all, We are back to reality now and i'll just share a few things we did on our trip. Will try not to babble on or go onto detail but feel free to ask any questions for more information....

Me & J - his first trip, my second - last one 5 years ago...

Our friend Sharon who married an Indonsesian ( Yoda )and she lives there on and off and we basically chose Bali as we had our lovely friends to show us around.. Yoda and his family own a shop in JL Sangasori Kuta ( the road up from the Ramayana Hotel ) called Yosh's -great quality handbags, purses, sunnies, Levi jeans and they also run tours and have their own driver. Go see them for anything as they are the most friendly, helpful pepole i know :)

Flew VB out of Adelaide on a Wednesday morning, flight only 1/3 full.
Into Bali 15 mins early which was great as the China Airline then came in behind us while we were waiting in immigration line and lots of the Chinese :) Paid with $US as we got some changed before we left to pay hotel with ( worked out a little cheaper but not much to break the bank :)
Took only 20 mins through to customs where we got held up for the extra alcohol... had to try as i wanted champagne for my birthday on the 4th Nov. No worries we payed Rp50,000 and out the door we went with our stash.
Took taxi Rp45,000 set price to the Febris - Tuban.

What can i say... for bout AUS$75 a night this hotel is great! Nice big fridge, clean rooms, clean linen and towels everyday, sufficient buffet breakfast, nice meals, nice pool (although not much shade) enough lounges, great location as everything is nearby and only a short walk to the beach. We also frequently walked to Discovery Mall and down to Kuta Square. But the best part of the Febris was the awesome staff, the boys were a lot of fun and the desk girls were very helpful.

Eats: Had planned to eat at numerous places but got sidetracked most of the time.

Febris: Yummy burgers, awesome schnitzel & nice pizzas, fresh tasty salads
Queen of India : Nice Indian, bit pricey
Bali Bagus: Cheap great food
Treehouse: Very cheap meals, big variety, tender chicken.. mmm..
TJ's: Mexican, i love my mexican so was a bit dissapointed in the meals here, not very tasty.
McDonalds: Fried chicken the best
KFC: Love the spicy chicken coz we don't have it here
Breadtalk: Yummy pasties, sweet soft breads and cakes
Some place on JL Kartika: For got the name but had a lunch special of sate's or nasi goreng with bottomless iced tea ( yum ) Also had prk buns

My favourite was the fresh juices and milkshakes you can get anywhere, just don't have too many :)

We did eat at a local market one night, our friends took us there, you wouldn't beable to find it yourself as it's not a tourist place. I tookthe easy option of having chicken but my other half partook in the eating of heart, liver, etc. Not for me !!! As it was local prices were very very cheap..

SHOPPED: Mainly shopped at fixed price places, Dianne's, Jenny's for sarong dresses, tops, shorts etc & Yanthi... Yanthi on Garlic Lane in Legian will take you out the back to her "place" where you can choose from a massive range!! We spent nearly 2 hours and Rp2.5 million, best way to shop i say. If you mention the travel forum and ask to see out the back she will take you.

Had a pendant engraved at 'Face 2 Face' photo engraving for my birthday pressie.. Took a few pictures and was ready in 2 days. Absolutely love it !!! Looks just like my little boy.. Also had a keyring of the 3 of us, love it love it love it !! Pendant cost $AU 80, keyring bout $AU 20

Took my eye prescription to have glasses made, looked around for ages to find frames i wanted ( same as a friend) but found them and 5 days later had my new DGspecs.

Usual DvD's and wii games...

Supermarket for beer, juices, yakult, chips, nibbles

Part 2 to come.... Thought this would be short but there's so much to tell :)
