SIM card to purchase and wherever you buy from are normally pretty helpful in showing you how to call and text back home. You just need to make sure your mobile phone is "unlocked" so just check with your provider, this will allow you to replace your SIM card with the temporary SIM. I am with "3" and I will need to call them soon to unlock my mobile. It is very cheap, from memory I paid @ IDR 100K for initial purchase (incl SIM and a few credits) and topped it up with another IDR 100K which lasted for 12 days and I made a lot of calls back to Australia and also sent a lot of texts. Wherever you buy will also tell you what family and friends back home need to call to contact you in Bali. Having said that it's cheaper if they text you and you phone them back as the rates are quite cheap. I hope this helps, I have left email open if you have any other questions, cheers.............Kris
