A bit late - but here goes - we travelled from 2 Oct till 23rd Oct. Primarily went for a wedding and made it into a family holiday.
Flew Jetstar Sydney-Darwin- Denpasar. Wasn't too bad breaking up the trip. The price was right. Direct flight home.
First week was just hubby and kids (12 and 10 yrs) - stayed at Green Garden in a family room which was great. Although right above restaurant and they have bands/singers every night. Not too noisy though. Was great to stay down that end of town as usually stay at Legian. Used the pool at sister hotel Febris as it was larger and more sun and sunbeds. Great pool and hotel itself looks nice. Shopped at Diane's across from GG . Found her really nice and great prices.
Next two weeks were at Puri Raja with wedding party and other guests.
Love PR and have stayed there before. Had to get two rooms - so was great not to have the kids underfoot!! PR was packed - mainly wedding guests. Even though it was busy - breakfast was quick and nice.
Had some great meals - places we liked were Yutz, Rumours, Seaside, Melasti at Kuta, Bali Deli, Onde Onde for Indonesian food was fantastic - entree calamari melted in your mouth and quite a big serve (next to Green Garden). Also Warung Patrick and Wali (?) Warung near the entrance to Niksoma. Also ate at Monde. Only meal not too fussed about was at LaCasa and that was because we couldn't get into Yutz. Kids loved Breadtalk.
Went to Safari and Marine park - had a great day and loved the photos with the animals. Also went to Waterbom and had a ball.
Had Warm Stone Massage at Inner Glow which is around the corner from Puri Raja just outside the Niksoma entrance. Went back for another traditional massage which was great but there was building works going on upstairs which made relaxing a bit hard with all the noise. Noise aside it was a great salon and would recommend it (after building has finished). Other massages were had at Puri Raja - loved them.
Bought lots of silver - mainly at Silverberry (great range of Pandora type charms and chains) - also bought from Solomon Silver in Rum Jungle Road. Bought leather bags from Tommy (love there stuff!) - had two made and couldn't be happier. Bought lots of DVD's, Wii games and CD's and PS2 games. No duds so far.
Went to Unagi and Geneva - think I prefer Geneva only cause stock is priced and you are left to your own. At Unagi stock has a code - so you don't know the price and we had a staff member follow us around with a basket to tell us the prices. Also bought some nice silver threre.
Oh yeah, The Wedding. It was sensational - at Khayangan Estate at Ulu. What a beautiful setting and a fantastic night. Like nothing I have even seen before.- Was like lifestyles of the rich and famous.
Went to Prada Lounge at the airport - was great - a few drinks before the flight - can't believe have never tried the lounge before. Well worth the 100K.
Struggling now being back in reality. Looking forward to next time!!!!!!!!
