I stayed at the Samsara Hotel this year for a month from mid august to september and have nothing but good things to report. I have no idea what it would have been that you so disliked about the place to have only lasted 15 minutes - barely enough time to even check out the facilities i would think let alone make such a harsh judgement. We had a pool side room where we overlooked at least 15 sunlounges and chairs plus a beautiful big day bed. The staff were absolutley georgous and went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. At one stage there was a problem with the pool which caused it to go a bit green but this was worked on day and night to correct the problem - mind you i have seen the same problem at some 4 & 5 star hotels in Bali over the years as well. Hera, the Balinese owner is just beautiful and will not tolerate anyone being rude or abusive to her staff and on several occassions asked people to pack their bags and leave if they could not follow the simple rules of keeping the noise down of a night time and let everyone enjoy themselves. The hotel has a policy of "Not suitable for Children" so you also have the added benefit of no "Marco Polo" every afternoon. I would not only recommend this hotel to others but i have also booked my nephew and his partner in there for 10 days at the end of this month.
