What a week...
Arrived in Bali on a Sunday night, elevated cravings for Nasi Padang were soon relieved with a quick stop into my fave nasi padang warung opposite Beneyasa 2. 5 nights in Adus Beach Inn, lovely room, beautiful gardens, so quiet. My room with hot water and fan cost 150,000rp night. The other bigger rooms, some with aircon, are from 250,000rp per night. Shopped till I dropped at Ketut 14, and the surrounding shops. There are some gorgeous wrap dresses in a small shop next to the leather shop, called Same Same But Different...love that saying! The dress can be made into a skirt, top, long dress, short dress...amazing. All with little ties underneath the material, I think I've scored great brownie points with my sisters at Xmas with this buy!
Did a day tour up to Sukawati markets, the bat caves and a busy but quaint little beach with black sand called Lebih.
Spent 3 nights in Beneyasa 2, just to be closer to the Padang food ( ha ha) and hung out one night at Chasers playing pool.
Discovered a new restaurant in galric lane I hadnt seen last time i was in Bali in March, named Garlic Lane. The decor attracted my attention originally, as the old restaurant that was there I remembered as being quite run down. The spring rolls are to die for, and the garlic prawns....I think it translates to being only about $8 Aussie, and you have never tasted anything better! I was very impressed.
A few beers at Billys, quick social swims at Joni's (Legian Village), and off the new road leading thru Kerobokan, I discovered this brilliant new local pool. I cant remember the name of it now, but there are 3 new local pools that have been built over the past few years apparently. The one I went to was fantastic for kids, with slides and climbing devices. There is also a local pool on Lebih beach, I didnt have a swimm but it was 1,000rp to borrow the loo!
Brilliant time, cant wait to do it all again in Feb!
