Left Perth 10 October 2009. Flew AA. No problems until the food came...
I ordered the Chicken satay rice and when I opened the foil there were pairs of little tiny beady eyes staring up at me. TINY FISH - YUK.
After quickly scraping them off I attacked my food which turned out to be very cold. Still for about $3 what do you expect!
Arrived in Denpasar about 8pm ish. Straight through VOA (yippee).
We were staying at Anakula Villas on the border of Legian/Seminyak and they kindly provide transport.
First stop was Circle K for some Binnies and milk.
Arrived at the villas only to find that they had forgotten to leave the keys! After about a half hour wait the keys were eventually delivered.
The villas are lovely. We had a 2 bedroom with all the mod cons and a plunge pool. What more could you ask for?
Maybe a mosquito zapper would have been a very good idea. The first night was bitten to pieces so the next morning the first port of call was the supermarket for a very needy can of spray.
That afternoon we were visited by my cousin her family and friends.
After a few quiet (cough cough) drinks we headed out to Bale Bali for some nice grub.
Fortunately for us we had free entertainment that night. One of the big boys had been watching the V8's all day and the other big boy had been indulging himself by the pool bar at the Hard Rock. BTW this was the latter big boy's first ever visit to Bali so he needed that experience (I hear Emma screaming NOT) ha ha
Needless to say after a few rounds of Arak Madu everybody was very lively especially the boys who tried to indulge my father into the Arak Madu spirit. Fortunately he was not tempted!
Later that night big boy number one arrived back at his hotel, scrounged around in the fridge for more bintang and told his wife that he was taking it down to the pool boys!
It seems that the pool boys had earn't their bintang as they had to carry him back to his hotel room that night lol
Big boy number two was just has bad and nearly got taken back to his room on a trolley!
Obviously the next day there were certain members of the party extremely quiet ha ha
It was also discovered that big boy number one had managed to arrange 3 take away Arak Madu from the restaurant. To this day his poor wife and he himself still don't know how he managed to sneak them in the taxi without wifey finding out.
Next stop Nusa Lembongan...
