Hi, hubby and I just spent 6mths in candidasa, and have been watching the Resort being built & renovated. I would prefer Shangrila as a new place is going to have a few hiccups. There are 8 dive centres to choose from and I do know that Graham and his lovely wife Elaine are proficient at diving. Good base place to take day trips & lots of restaurants & warungs to eat at. Try a hotdog at Gary & Tyo's place - Arys homestay just as you come into CD its on the left side. Some days a lot of expats meet for lunch, so they can inform you more on what to do. Friday is a must at the Watergarden at 4pm onwards for "frothy Friday" meet heaps of people.
