An interesting JBR, particularly for a number of points raised.
The description of your experience at Sheppys Restaurant highlights the different way in which some people perceive things to be.
Admittedly my wife and I have only dined at this establishment on one occasion so perhaps it is unfair to be too critical, but this place did not even register a point on the score of 1 to 10.
To be charitable, the food could be described as average.
Another debit was the appearance of an Australian bloke in thongs, boardies and grubby singlet, with a Bintang shoved half-way down his gullet, walking around the restaurant.
Imagine our surprise when we discovered that this gentleman was the proprietor.
This person, in our opinion, was a proper nuisance, attempting to insert himself into the company of the diners with a pathetically false display of "hail fellow well met". ( Perhaps in an effort to distract them from the poor quality of the fare. )
We have resisted the temptation to return.
I have never been a client of Mr Honeyman, but obviously there is a large number of subscribers to this forum whose dealings with him have been most satisfactory, so your problems are most surprising.
An optical business on Jl Teuka Umar in Denpasar has always been my first port of call for lenses and frames, with very happy results,( as distinct from happy ending! )
I would like to take issue with your description of Romy Watches and an un-named clothing retailer as "just rip off merchants and dishonest as well" with the exhortation to "steer clear of them at all costs".
Obviously I cannot speak for the clothing retailer, but I can vouch for the fact that my family has been a customer of Romy for many years and have nothing but the highest praise for him.
Your attack on these two small businessmen, describing them in such vile terms and endeavouring to destroy their livelihoods without offering any reason does you no credit at all, and the fact that they cannot defend themselves makes your actions even more cowardly.
