second trip to bali, 1st jbr. spent the 2wks we were there making new friends (which is so easy to do in bali)catching up with old friends and enjoying the best holiday destination ever.spent 3 days driving around with Rai from bali personal tours,and enjoyed both his company and his knowledge of the island and its food(roast suckling pig in ubud YUM!!)stayed 1 night at the pondok sara and decided it was not the place for us... next had to find somewhere that was...lucky we were in bali, the land of the gods.2nd building down from pondo sara had rooms to rent sign on gate. Walked in to have a look and WOW!2 single bedroom apartments and 4 doubles, nice pool, great beds ,clean , electronic safes,and about 52au pn. packed bags, walked down the lane and moved in.Even got a small birthday cake and present as it was my birthday the day after we moved in, No big hotels for us .Place is called Niramaya and have e-mail address if anyone wants it. would have no hesitation in reccomending it to anyone.lots of shopping,sightseeing, got about 1/2 way through the list. Bali time is contagious. Went for some rides on the back of a bike( thought it would be scary but was an adrenalin rush for sure!!)found an awesome tattoo studio with a guy called gesang, who does a fantastic job of designing individual tats. You can find him in cempaka lane behind the mastapa gardens hotel in legian.All this and it was my 59th birthday. am saving for the next one.. para sailing? diving? will have to come up with something really good to top this one.
