It depends on whether you are enquiring about a casual account for a holiday or a high speed access for a business if you are living there.

Fibre-optic is available at very good speeds, but is expensive. You also need to live in an area where it is available.
There is also satelitte, which is also expensive but fast.

After that you have the wireless options which offer faster than dial-up, less than ADSL1 speeds with the usual drop-outs etc that you can expect with the technology. More affordable.

There is also Telcom Speedy for which you need a landline. Essentially it is like ADSL1. A bit more than what you would pay for the same thing in a western country, but one of the most popular plans for expats living there who have a phone line.
