the boys and back with a 3 and 4yo in a few months and we are staying in a private apartment at the Jayakarta.
We stayed at Patra last time in a Deluxe Suite and it was lovely BUT we personally 'felt' the lack of kitchen facilities. ie decent fridge, cutlery, crockery and small microwave maybe. It didn't ruin the holiday but we're hoping the Jayakarta with a small kitchen will help out with the constant eating of the boys. lol There are other accommodation choices there but I don't think they'd be in your budget.
We also stayed at the Kumala Pantai with our 10month old at the time and it was once again very lovely and once again would have really appreciated kitchen facilities. Unless you're going for the presidential suite I wouldn't bother with the KP. I do love it though.
If you check out Mics bali pages - all the apartments and hotels are listed there that have these types of facilities that we need with little toddlers (IMO). Its an invaluable source.
Also the MBR rooms (even if large) don't cater to a family anymore than a normal hotel room, there is no other facilities other than a bed bath and pool. Would give that one a miss for what you're looking for.
The BGH is the same, unless you're going for 'the' villa which has stairs so probably not great either, you're just going to get a big room with nothing extra in it to be helpful to toddlers needs.
Forgot to add about pools, all the above are great, I would say the Patra was the best for my boys, huge shallow area.
And that is all I can comment on. Hope you have a look at mics pages then you can make up your own mind about whats best for you.
Good Luck.
