Don't blame your dad really. We had friends stay with us the first time at the Suites and they weren't impressed either. I think for us we like 5 star and everything else as well. We seem to enjoy different places for different reasons. The first time we stayed there we had 2 kids with us and my 14 yo daughter just loved the staff. They were so good to our kids, looked after them at night playing chess until we got back from dinner (for free) they were so friendly. They talked to her all the time and taught her some Indonesian. My daughter fell in love with bali and the staff there. She kept in touch with text messages. Sadly one has since passed away on a motorbike accident and she was heartbroken. We then went back again with another son (as it was cheap enough) and once again felt so at home there. We got to know the Seminyak area better that time and really enjoyed staying at the same place again. My daughters are there at the moment with their dad. It is small and personal and it just suited us.
