I have been to Bali 7 times, and Phuket 2 times, never went with the intention of comparing the 2, love Bali, but Thailand is great too. we have friends in both places. The thai are very gentle and sincere people like Balinese, the only fault would be the Indian Tailors, very pushy...but there are some lovely places to escape to and the scenery is just beautiful, beaches excellent, as with the eating areas, of course if you are on the beach road everything is more expensive, pays to shop around, just like Bali. Planning another trip back there now, and having just got back from Bali, they are unique in their own way, enjoy, I know I will.
