Depends on what you are looking for, if it's the night life forget it.
Good inexpensive restaurants a plenty on jl Pratama starting from Novotel all the way up to Nusa Dua gates.
More than handy for all water sports and easy access to Turtle Island
from the bottom of jl Pratama. Walk under the apartment block at the No Entry sign and ask for Wayan Kantin. Nice tucker there too.
The traditional market is a ripper, shop with the locals, best price for fish, meat and veggies there. Clothing, material and shoes too, don't be surprised to be the only tourist around there.
Get involved with the locals, ask if there are ceremonies coming up at the temple.
Lovely people, lovely place. Clean beach. Enjoy.
