Remember we had a 'discussion' recently on BTF regarding tipping, yes or no, if so how much?
I was talking to 'friend' yesterday and she mentioned they hired a driver from their 4 or so hotel in Legian. It was her third or so trip to Bali, but not for 10 years. His first trip. He wasnt sure if he'd enjoy Bali. He did, he did, he did. They will return.
When they were ready to go to the airport, they were disappointed their favourite driver wasnt driving them. He wanted to tip the original driver. He left an envelope at reception, with his name and cash inside. He then sms'd the driver to tell him to collect the envelope.
The driver contacted him later, thrilled that he had received his biggest tip ever. They left au$100.
Gee I was thrilled when I heard the story.
The Aussies are 'financially secure' and wanted to show their appreciation.
