I stayed at the Padma in 2006 and thought it was great. However, since then we have always stayed at the Melasti which has equally gorgeous views and beach access and personally I think it is just as good as the Padma, but much much cheaper. The pool areas are great and the Superior rooms are quiet large, especially in comparison with the Family rooms at the Padma.
Just my opinion anyway.
