batteries in checked in baggage. But this was only in the USA. You cannot carry spare Lithium batteries in your checked baggage, but may have devices with batteries fitted no problem. You are also allowed to carry 2 spare batteries in your carry on. I have not heard of this outside the US. Aparently they have linked to several fires on aircraft.
