aerosols in checked luggage

Hi all, just a quick question regarding aerosol cans, eg deoderant, hairspray etc, can I pack them in the checked luggage or could they possibly explode. I know there is a limit to how much you can carry with you in your carry on luggage so how are we supposed to carry the larger cans etc. we are travelling Garuda. thanks all in advance.
